With all the interest in sustainable landscape, I thought I’d share an idea that’s been trafficking on one of the listservs I participate in.
Betty Mackey, an author, publisher, speaker and general all ’round good gal from Pennsylvania, has written Grow a Moss Lawn in the Shade, a nifty, free, e-book.
“My moss lawn is self-sustaining because it is in shade and I have a moist climate here. It’s within range of other moss that spreads spores into the lawn area. It began when I realized that the moss was winning out over the grass so I began removing the grass. I water it occasionally but never fertilize it,” Mackey said.
