I needed a break from editing a rose book, so this afternoon I took some photos of the winter landscape.
It definitely is winter. Temps with highs in the teens and 20s and lows in the single digits. Snow. More predicted for tomorrow. Brrrr.
But Christmas is near and one of the highlights outdoors is a container decked with greenery from the garden center, dried flowers and colored stems from the garden.
Also, the birds leave their tracks in the snow, another highlight. If only I could match names with footprints. The juncos are plentiful this year and there’s a large band of goldfinches, chickadees, titmice, brown creepers, nuthatches, red-bellied woodpeckers, cardinals and more.
Lastly, a brave stand of ‘Angelina’ Sedum rupestre glistens in the snow.

Love the arrangement. Yeah to more snow. I guess. Good for insulating the garden when it is soooo cold outside!

Beautiful photos! I like the snow accenting your greenery bouquet and the bird prints are adorable. 🙂
