Jo Ellen Meyers Sharp, the Hoosier Gardener, will speak about Ground Covers: More than Ivy and Myrtle at 10:30 a.m., at the 7th annual Garden Celebration.
Sponsored by the Johnson County Garden Club and Purdue Master Gardeners of Johnson County, the event includes workshops, presentations, plants and garden accessories. Tree seedlings will be given away on a first-come, first-served basis. Food and other refreshments available.
Other programs: Perfect Plants for Attracting Pollinators by Sue Nord Peiffer of the Indianapolis Museum of Art; The Good, the Bad and the Ugly: Problems & Benefits of Insects in the Garden by Tom Turpin, a professor of entomology at Purdue University; and The Buzz about Bees by Mark Smith, Smith’s Beekeeping.
Admission: $2 or a non-perishable food item or toiletry of similar value for the Inter-Church Food Pantry.
