The IMA recently installed a hive, so its residents can help pollinate fruits, vegetables and flowers. On his blog, Irvin Etienne, one of the horticulturists at the Indianapolis Museum of Art, lays out all the steps to inspecting honeybees.
In the hive are “drones, the workers, and of course, Her Royal Majesty, the Queen. They are quite active already. I can see them flying in and out of the hive from my office window. Chad chose a spot along the old Interurban railroad line that is nice and sunny,” he wrote.
Irvin tells his story not just with photos. Nope, he has carefully selected music — featuring bees, honey and other sweet things, to score the tale.
