Ten volunteers basked in a sunny Saturday to plant cabbages and kale in the containers at the Indianapolis City Market. Many of the volunteers were the same who planted this spring and summer and we thank all who’ve helped make the market look so nice.
We will be planting again next year. This fall, Karen Kennedy, Wendy Ford, Sandra Timmerberg, Renee Sweany and her fiance, Chris Sublett, and four members of the Clifford family, Chris, Jordan, Ben and Katherine planted. Chris works for St. Elmo’s/Harry & Izzy’s restaurants. Renee, who is co-publisher of Green Piece Indy, is getting married at the market next May. Kennedy and Timmerberg are Marion County Master Gardeners.
