‘Chocolate Chip’ bugleweed

- ‘Chocolate Chip’ bugleweed (Ajuga) is a perennial ground cover that gets about 3 inches tall with an 8- to 10-inch spread. Rich bronzy foliage forms a thick mat that sprouts blue spike flowers in spring. Plant in part sun or part shade in well-drained soil.
- Blue star creeper (Isotoma fluviatilis), sometimes called swamp isotome, is a favorite among growers and landscapers. It is an easy-to-grow, ground-hugging perennial that has light blue flowers throughout the season. Does best in full sun and evenly moist soil. Compatible with roses. Sometimes listed as Laurentia fluviatillis.
- ‘Plenus’ double birds foot trefoil (Lotus corniculatus) is a fast grower that can take full sun and heavy foot traffic. This 4-inch tall plant with a 10- to 12-inch spread has yellow flowers in early summer. In some parts of the country, this plant is considered an invasive weed.
- ‘Aurea’ Scotch moss (Sagina subulata) is a low-growing, chartreuse, creeping soft textured perennial that does best in morning sun in well-drained evenly moist soil.
- Irish moss (Sagina subulata) is dark green with a soft texture that does best in morning sun. It gets about 3 inches tall with a 12-inch spread.
