Win a subscription to Indiana Gardening magazine

indiana cover jan11

Congrats to Angela Gilmer, who won a free subscription to Indiana Gardening magazine. Check back again, because the Hoosier Gardener will be giving away more free subscriptions.

Beginning in January 2011, magazine will arrive on newsstands and subscribers’ mailboxes. Finally, a gardening magazine just for those of us who garden in Hoosier soil.

Most of the four-color glossy magazine is written by Indiana writers, too, including Carol Michel of May Dreams Gardens and yours truly. I’m writing features for the magazine and answering questions in Ask the Expert.

“It’s great to know that everything included in Indiana Gardening will work in our gardens here in Indiana. We won’t be disappointed to read an article only to find out at the end that none of the plants is hardy here,” Michel said.

15 magazines in stable

Published six times a year by State-by-State Gardening Magazines, Indiana Gardening joins 14 sister publications, including Chicagoland Gardening, Ohio Gardener, Pennsylvania Gardener, Georgia Gardening and Kentucky Gardener.

Each issue contains localized gardening advice, step-by-step and how-to stories for the hands-on gardener, beautiful color photography and great solutions for tough gardening problems. There also are region reports, hot plants, popular plants for the Indiana landscape, calendar of events, information on Indiana’s premier gardening shows and events, ask the expert, garden profiles and other features, said Steve Giddings, publisher of State-by-State Gardening, founded in 1997 and based in Ruston, La.

“Indiana has a great gardening tradition and we are excited to become a part of it by offering Indiana home-gardening enthusiasts the latest information from local and regional experts,” Giddings said.

How to subscribe

A subscription to Indiana Gardening is $19.95 for a year (six issues). But for early birds, there’s a special introductory price of $17.95. Subscribers also receive a free State-by-State Gardening Discount Card, which is good for 10 percent off at locally owned garden centers and nurseries throughout the state. A list of who honors the discount card will be available in each issue of the magazine and on the Web site. To subscribe to Indiana Gardening, please call (888) 265-3600, or visit the Web site.

Free subscription

Or, leave a comment below to register to win a  free subscription to Indiana Gardening. The winner will be selected at random. Registration ends at 8 a.m. EDT, Dec. 27, 2010. Surely you have something to say.
