Indianapolis — Seasons, the horticulture newsletter of the Indianapolis Museum of Art, has received a Silver Award of Achievement from the Garden Writers Association‘s 2009 Media Awards Program.
It will be presented at the group’s awards banquet at the annual symposium in Raleigh, N.C., in September. The Silver Award makes Seasons eligible for the GWA Garden Media Gold Awards for Best Product.
“Having attended last year, I know how special this can be for the recipients,” said Mark Zelonis, the Ruth Lilly Deputy Director of Environmental & Historic Preservation. “Many thanks to everyone who contributed their time and talents to make this award possible. I am quite proud of what we’ve accomplished, and so pleased to be able to work with all of you in producing this handsome publication.”
Written by the horticultural staff, Seasons, which just completed its first year of publication, is supported by funding from the IMA’s Horticultural Society and the museum.
GWA said 307 entries were judged in the annual contest that recognizes the best examples of garden communications in newspapers, magazines, newsletters, Web sites, blogs, books, television and radio productions and commercial marketing materials.
