Join me Nov. 8 for a walk in Garfield Park as part of the 2009 Spirit & Place Festival’s Inspiring Places. Indeed, Garfield Park is inspiring, with its George Kessler designed Sunken Gardens, bridges, boulevards and parkways.
We’ll start at 1 p.m. at the Garfield Park Conservatory for a quick tour of the unique plants there and then head outdoors for about a 1- to 1 1/2-hour walk the park.
The event is free. Later in the day, people will gather at 5 p.m. at the Athenaeum, 401 E. Michigan St., to talk about their memories of inspiring places. Refreshments will be available for purchase.
